FAQ

For help using the website, see our technical support FAQ. Below you will find questions about us and our service:

How important is it to have prayers voiced by a computer?
We think that Information Age Prayer is a new and exciting way to connect with God but we recommend you contact your local clergy for a personal answer.

How will having my prayers voiced make a difference?
When you subscribe to our service you are guaranteed to make a difference with the charities supported by Information Age Prayer. As with all prayer though, the final results are up to God because everything follows His will. We make no claims regarding the efficacy of the service, however it is our opinion that the omniscient God hears the prayers when they are voiced, as He hears everything on this Earth. The omniscient God knows exactly who has requested each prayer and He is reminded who each prayer is for when He hears their name voiced.

Why is subscribing better than visiting the site every day and manually playing the prayers?
Our service has the computer actually read the prayers with the latest text to speech technology. This is fundamentally different than just playing a recorded sound file. That said, we do encourage visitors to keep iaPrayer in their favorites and visit often to listen to the prayers.

How can I submit my own prayer to be voiced?
We love it when our users submit prayers although unfortunately we are not able to add them all. Please see this page for instructions.

How can I volunteer to help Information Age Prayer?
This site has been made possible with the diligent efforts of many volunteers. We hope to grow and improve with more help from people like you. The easiest way to help is to submit a new prayer (instructions here) or send a recording of a listed prayer to prayers@iaPrayer.com. If you have some special skills there are many more opportunities to help our cause here.

How can I donate to Information Age Prayer?
We do not accept donations. To help support our cause please sign up or login then buy some points and have us voice your prayers.

How exactly will my prayer be voiced?
We use state of the art text-to-speech synthesizers to voice each prayer at a volume and speed equivalent to a typical person praying. Each prayer is voiced individually, with the name of the person the prayer is for read at the start of the prayer. For more information see our terms of use or ask your question in an email to support@iaPrayer.com.

Do you have text to speech capabilities in all your languages?
We are working towards getting text to speech in more languages. When a prayer in another language is requested, the computer reads the English version of the prayer. Hindu Mantras are the exception in that they are voiced with a recording of the Monk’s expert reading.

Can I request a prayer be voiced for a friend or relative?
Many of the prayers we have voiced are not for the users requesting them. To request a prayer for someone else, list their name as the “person the prayer is for” before clicking Add to cart or Subscribe.

How does Information Age Prayer decide where to donate?
We decide based on the suggestions of our volunteers, users and visitors. We try to focus our donations on relief organizations and we only donate to verified 501(c)(3) charities. We may choose to donate to your organization if you follow the instructions here.

Can I get a direct Peer to Peer connection with God?
God is not your peer, but not to worry, your connection with Him is ever-present.

How are the number of points per prayer decided?
Prices are determined by the length of the prayer. A prayer that takes longer to read will require more points than prayers that takes less time to read. Stay in touch with us , , and you will find out when we provide special offers or lower prices.

What do I do if my question is not in this list?
First check the technical support FAQ. If your question is not there either, then send your question via email to support@iaPrayer.com
